UQICD - A New Source of Series on International Comparisons of Prices, Incomes and Inequality

Real Incomes by Country

Real incomes by country is the most important module of UQICD as the series available here are subsequently used in compiling series available in other modules. The Real Incomes module has been available in all the earlier versions of UQICD starting from Version 1.0 released in 2012.

A special feature of UQICD is the availability of charts showing different series over time for all the countries in the database.

The main series available in this Module are panels of purchasing power parity (PPP) exchange rates and real expenditures at the GDP level and for the three main components: Consumption; Investment; and Government Expenditure. Measures for 183 countries (see detailed information) are included.

In addition to the panels of PPPs available from the UQICD, a number of standard series of interest from secondary sources are made available to the users to facilitate basic analyses as well as the construction of a number of series that can be derived from the series that can be downloaded from UQICD.

The user may consult the UQ International Comparisons Database: UQICD User Guide V3.0 to decide on the most appropriate series to download. The methodology used in the construction of the available series are summarised in the User Guide, and further details can be found in various publications and working papers.

Current price real and nominal series are provided for GDP as well as its components. Real series are obtained by converting local currency unit aggregates in each year using PPPs for that year. Nominal series are exchange rate converted series. Separate series are available for GDP, Individual Consumption Expenditure by Households (CONS); Government expenditure (GOV); and Gross Capital Formation (GCF). Corresponding per capita series are also available.

Constant price series are useful for comparisons over time. Series provided here are anchored on 2011 as the base year. Measures of real GDP and its components at 2011 constant prices are provided.
